Privacy Policy
Last updated October 30, 2026
This explains what YardTrails collects and why. Short version: only what's needed to run the site, and we don't sell your data or show ads.
What we collect
- Account: your name and email address when you sign up.
- Listings: everything you post, including the address and photos. Listings are public.
- Messages: conversations with other users, visible only to the people in them (and to us if needed to handle abuse).
- Favorites, cheers and settings you save.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We keep a record of what you bought and your subscription status — never your card number.
- Your location: only if you allow it in your browser, to center the map and plan routes. It stays on your device; we don't store it.
- Notifications: if you turn on alerts, we store your browser's notification address so we can send them.
- Usage: basic, anonymous analytics (like page views) to improve the site, and a count of views on each listing.
Who we share it with
Only the services that run YardTrails: Google Firebase and Google Maps (hosting, accounts, database, maps), Stripe (payments), and Cloudinary (photo storage). We don't sell or rent your information, and there are no ads.
Your choices
- Edit or cancel your listings anytime from My Account.
- Turn notifications off in My Account or your browser settings.
- To get a copy of your data or delete your account, email yardtrails@gmail.com.
Kids
YardTrails is for adults. Lemonade stands are great — but a parent should post and manage the listing.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top.
